GHB
GHB, G, GBL, Gina, Liquid E, Liquid Ecstasy, Liquid X
GHB is a central nervous system depressant almost always consumed orally as a liquid with a slightly salty taste.
Duration: 2–4 hours
Dose:
Dosing GHB is extremely difficult because it comes in a water solution with widely varying concentrations. The dosage range is very narrow, which makes overdoses likely.
Effects:
Relaxation, increased sociability, appreciation of music and dancing. Decreased motor skills, sleepiness, dizziness, grogginess, slurred speech, muscle spasms, nausea, and vomiting. Higher doses can cause loss of consciousness, convulsions, and breathing depression.
Additional information:
Using GHB with alcohol increases the risk of losing consciousness. Never combine GHB with other central nervous system depressants such as alcohol, opiates, or benzodiazepines. These combinations can be fatal.
Overdoses have occurred in people taking only slightly higher doses than usual or not waiting long enough before redosing. Use a syringe or spoon to measure doses. Start small and wait at least two hours before taking more.
GHB is often a colorless liquid, which can lead to accidental drinking and overdose. It should be colored with food coloring and stored in a labeled container that cannot be mistaken for a beverage bottle.
Frequent use of GHB can lead to dependence and severe withdrawal symptoms that may require medical help.
